WEARABLE HYBRID NANOJENARATOR DESIGN WITH TRIBOELECTRIC-PYROELECTRIC PROPERTIES

Nanogenerators, which offer significant potential to create self-powered wearable electronic systems, have attracted great interest in recent years. The performances of wearable nanogenerators can be increased with hybrid structures. According to the literature studies, the disadvantages related to the use of the materials such as harmful effects on the body, not easy to find, high operating temperatures and brittleness have limited the developments in wearable electronics. There is a need to design flexible and compatible hybrid generators designed to collect various forms of energy from the human body. In this project, it is aimed to design a new single structure flexible and compatible triboelectric (TENG)-pyroelectric (PENG) hybrid wearable nanogenerator that generates energy by using body temperature and motion and sharing common electrodes. TENG and PENG devices that forming the hybrid nanogenerator were created and their performances were tested. The performance of the TENG device was characterized by slightly tapping with the hand. The maximum voltage is 20 V and the maximum current is measured as 1µA. The PENG device was examined by taking it into the heating and cooling cycle and the maximum voltage was measured as 20 V. Al electrode was used as a common electrode while combining the TENG and PENG model and a single hybrid structure was formed. When the performance of the designed TENG-PENG single-structure hybrid model was tested, it was seen that it generates voltage by responding to heating, cooling and striking actions. In addition, the maximum voltage obtained from a single structure is two times higher than the maximum voltage obtained from TENG and PENG devices separately. The two structures strengthened each other and increased performance. The designed hybrid structure is completely original and designed in this project. Materials that are easily available, flexible, have not harmful effects on the human body, and are suitable for wearable technology are used in the device. Designing flexible and compatible hybrid generators to collect various forms of energy from the human body will also contribute to the development of wearable electronics applications.
